Mixtape

Trying to find the perfect balance
Between the universe and me
It takes a special kind of talent
To fill up both sides perfectly

With some tracks you might recognize

Or maybe you vaguely remember

Listening between the lines

Thinking about the times that we were together

Back when things were better

I made a mixtape on my radio

It can be your soundtrack wherever you go

I hope these songs will remind you of me

The good times we’ve had and those yet to be

Please take this mixtape when you go

Each song was written by a poet

About what it means to be in love

With someone who might not even know it

Still, I wonder what you’re thinking of

When you listen to these songs in order

Eleven on side A and ten on B

I hope it tells a bigger story

Of what you mean to me

You are everything

        You are everything...

I made a mixtape on my radio

It can be your soundtrack wherever you go

I hope these songs will remind you of me

The good times we’ve had and those yet to be

Please take this mixtape when you go

If at the end, we fade away

We’re all warped by time

I hope that this cassette still plays

Somewhere in the back of your mind

Maybe one day you’ll find it

When you finally sell that old car

Just don’t ever try to rewind it

Or change the person that you are

I love who you are

        I love who you are...

I made a mixtape on my radio

It can be your soundtrack wherever you go

I hope these songs will remind you of me

The good times we’ve had and those yet to be

Please take this mixtape when you go
